“Most journals feel like writing into a void. You pour your thoughts in and nothing comes back. Sorushi changes that. Every entry triggers AI that reads between your lines - surfacing the patterns you miss, the questions you avoid, and the insights you need.”
The idea
What is AI journaling?
AI journaling is a form of reflective journaling where an AI reads what you write and replies with observations, questions, or analysis. Traditional journaling is a one-way activity: you pour thoughts onto a page and the page stays silent. An AI journaling app closes the loop.
When you finish an entry in Sorushi, the AI reads the full text and responds in four distinct ways. It fires back pointed questions about what you wrote. It compares today's entry against your last thirty days and surfaces patterns you couldn't see from inside your own head. It detects goals and commitments, then tracks whether you follow through. And at the end of each week and month, it synthesizes everything into a reflection report.
The result is a journal that actually builds on itself. Write enough entries and Sorushi starts to notice things about you - contradictions, recurring themes, avoided topics, moods that spike on particular days. That noticing is what makes AI journaling different from writing in Day One, Notion, or Apple Journal. Your reflection compounds into insight.
How it works
Three steps to thinking clearly
Write anything
A distraction-free editor that feels like writing on paper. Rich text, mood tracking, tags. Quick capture in under 30 seconds.
Get challenged
AI reads your entry and asks the questions you're not asking yourself. Specific, sharp, tied to what you actually wrote.
See patterns emerge
Over days and weeks, Sorushi spots what you can't - recurring themes, mood cycles, avoided topics, and goals going stale.
Four AI lenses
Your journal, amplified
Every entry passes through four distinct AI analyses. Each one reveals something different about how you think.
Challenge Mode
After you write, Sorushi fires back with 1–3 questions that push past surface-level thinking. Like a smart friend who asks what everyone else is too polite to ask.
Pattern Recognition
Analyzes entries over weeks to identify recurring themes, emotional cycles, and behavioral patterns you can't see yourself when you're inside them.
Coaching Prompts
Detects goals from your entries and tracks follow-through. When you go silent on a commitment, Sorushi nudges you back with precision.
Synthesis Reports
Weekly and monthly AI-generated digests of your themes, mood trajectory, key decisions, and blind spots. Like a letter from a future version of yourself.
Your journal, your data
Private by default. Always.
- Only you can read your entries. Your journal is scoped to your account. We don't browse it and we don't share it.
- Never used to train AI. Your writing is sent only to Anthropic (Claude) under terms that prohibit training on your data. Embeddings for search are generated locally and never leave Sorushi.
- Export everything, anytime. Download your full journal as Markdown or JSON with one click. Your words belong to you.
- Delete everything, anytime. Wipe your data or delete the whole account from settings, with a typed confirmation. No emails, no waiting on a support team.
